De Warren

De Warren is a pioneering housing cooperative located on Centrumeiland in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Completed in 2023, this sustainable and community-focused development comprises 36 apartments—ranging from small studios to family homes—designed and managed by its residents. The building dedicates 30% of its space to communal areas, including coworking spaces, a music studio, a meditation room, a children’s playroom, and a rooftop terrace with greenhouses. Constructed using reclaimed azobé wood and cross-laminated timber, it boasts an energy-positive design with an EPC rating of -0.16. De Warren exemplifies collective living, offering a harmonious blend of private and shared spaces in a sustainable urban setting.
